Detroit DD13 Cylinder Head Tightening Procedure
The DD13 utilizes 38 M15 cylinder head bolts tightened in the same 4-stage sequence as the DD15:
- Stage 1: Torque all 38 bolts to 74 ft-lbs (100 N·m) in numbered spiral sequence.
- Stage 2: Torque all 38 bolts to 148 ft-lbs (200 N·m) in numbered spiral sequence.
- Stage 3: Turn all 38 bolts 90 degrees clockwise (Torque Angle 1).
